AML/KYC Policy

Last updated: October 25, 2023

1. Introduction

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) policies are designed to prevent the use of the POINT-EXCHANGE service for criminal purposes.

The Company adheres to strict customer verification and transaction monitoring standards in order to comply with international regulations and the legislation of the European Union (5AMLD/6AMLD).

2. Verification Procedure (KYC)

For large exchange transactions or in the event of suspicious activity, the Service reserves the right to request identity verification. The procedure includes the submission of the following documents:

  • Identity document: passport, ID card, or driver’s license (valid, with photo).
  • Proof of address: utility bill or bank statement (not older than 3 months).
  • Photo with the document (Selfie): a photograph of the client holding their identity document and a sheet of paper with the current date.

3. Transaction Monitoring (AML)

The Service uses automated systems (AMLBot, Crystal Blockchain) to analyze all incoming cryptocurrency transactions. We screen funds for connections with:

  • Darknet marketplaces.
  • Mixers and anonymization services.
  • Hacking activities and stolen funds.
  • Terrorist financing.

If a transaction’s risk score exceeds the acceptable threshold (High Risk), the funds may be temporarily frozen pending clarification of their origin.

4. Risk Assessment

The Company applies a Risk-Based Approach. We classify clients and transactions according to risk levels. Special attention is given to:

  • High-value transactions.
  • Clients from high-risk jurisdictions.
  • Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs).

5. Refusal of Service

POINT-EXCHANGE reserves the right to refuse to process an exchange and to block a user account in the following cases:

  • Refusal to provide verification documents.
  • Submission of forged or altered documents.
  • Identification of wallet connections to illegal activities (sanctions lists, fraud).
  • Suspicion of money laundering attempts.

6. Cooperation with Authorities

In cases предусмотренных by law, the Service is obliged to provide information about suspicious transactions and user data to law enforcement authorities or financial intelligence units of the relevant jurisdiction.
